Here’s the story.
One day, I saw a segment on the local news about upcoming plans for “Joshua’s House Hospice”, the state of California’s first and only hospice shelter for the terminally ill homeless being built in Sacramento, CA. I said to myself, “It must be terrible living on the streets.” However, until I saw that local news segment, I really didn’t make the connection that people could be terminally ill and actually die out there without any care or attention. Could you imagine if that was you? Also, over the years I had pondered how my music could help the homeless situation. What could I do?
Then the idea came to me!
Over the last year I had been recording new songs with nine now completed. If I pressed a special limited autographed edition of 100 vinyl copies of this album and if every copy were sold for a gift donation of $100, I could raise $10,000 going directly to Joshua’s House Hospice! This money could be used to help the facility with daily expenses and the cost of construction.
So that’s what I am doing!

Imagine being homeless and subject to varying outdoor temperatures, rain, and even the theft of your personal belongings. Then imagine at the same time, facing the challenge of dealing with a terminal illness. Whether it be cancer or even heart failure, you are on the streets and your greatest fear is dying alone.
In the Sacramento area, two to four people experiencing homelessness die on our streets each week and about 39% of those men and women die from a terminal illness. Joshua’s House Hospice is committed to doing something about these tragic statistics. Joshua’s House Hospice will be a hospice house for 20 terminally ill, homeless residents at a time who will be loved, respected, and provided with high quality hospice care in a home-like setting. They will be provided meals, clothing, companionship, art, and music therapy. We are proud and excited to say that it will be the first hospice house for the homeless on the West Coast and the eighth in the country!
